The Kurt Weill Fall? Not too surprising. The sensitive, twee Fall? Hmmm. Also contains some more of the groovy rockin' Fall of recent days (a good thing, IMHO) and a good dose of old-school Fall of the repetitive and rockabilly-ish sorts -- but recorded clearly. It all sounds so nice now, accomodating, neutered. I kind of miss the weird dissonances and strange notions of tonality from older Fall. Maybe in another 20 releases M.E.S. will come back around to that sort of thing. I used to hate how other bands, like Pavement, seemed to rip off The Fall, but for now it just seems like The Fall are doing it too.
