Oh my gawd! The Rattlesnakes are here to rock you! No! No! They are here to blow you out of you frigging sneakers! There is no escaping their wall of sound which combines a supreme barrage of throbbing guitars, thundering drums, and growling vocals that will put you on the dance floor or just plain put you down. The Rattlesnakes are the most agitated band to see live, with front-man Nathan Buckley whipping himself about the dance floor entreating all to join in the mayhem or get the hell out. I have seen "the Snakes" several times and still get completely crushed by their sound, which at its core is a blistering cacophony of pure Garage Rock n' Roll juju. Since seeing this LA ensemble every other week won't be enough and I suggest grabbing their new Album I, Explosion. Aptly named, the CD will practically vibrate you out of your sofa and make you want to fling your badass self about your living room in auditory abandon. The arrangements roll up and down like the a roller coaster nightmare ride that never seems to end. The guitars push out beautiful, crunchy, harmonies that are made crispy by Nathan's deep fried vocals that explode like a Soul singer with a speed freak edge. With thirteen tracks rapid-fire tracks this album is just long enough to satisfy your carnal desires, but not so long that you don't keel over from exhaustion. The best part is, if you live in Los Angeles, chances are you can see The Rattlesnakes live. - Just make sure you come ready to dance, otherwise The Rattlesnakes might send you home sorry!
